I worked for Dr. Stiles at the UK Chemistry Department and found him to be most interesting. We shared interests in the field of chemistry and a love for all things horses. He will be known for the Stiles reaction and being the editor of JACS. However I will always remember him for his forward thinking in breeding a better Thoroughbred and his love of his wife's soup.
