I had Dr Beidleman for two semesters of algebra in my freshman year of 1972-1973. I always had disliked algebra, but he made me love it and I earned As in those classes. Dr Beidleman called me B Square ( my initials). I adored him and he was one of my most memorable and influential professors. As a now retired teacher, i appreciate him even more for his patience and passion in his subject area. My heartfelt condolences.

I had Dr. Beidleman for a class in the 1980s. He was a great teacher and a wonderful person. His approach to teaching was unique. He taught the material very well, but cared enough about his students to make thought provoking comments about life and his beliefs to try and inspire us to be better people. I will always remember him for his intellect and his obvious personal integrity and professionalism. Larry E. Sears

I had James as a algebra instructor my freshman year at UK , in1980 , a very large class , one of the best instructors I ever had . Made it feel like a small class, very approachable , you could tell he new his stuff and loved to teach. He often spoke of his family , I could tell he loved them dearly. You have my condolences.
