Charlie Mercer Obituary

ATLANTA - Ivie Funeral Home announces the services for Charlie Marshall Mercer Sr., 59, of Talmo, who died on Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. Born in Duplin County, N.C., he was the son of the late Lloyd Mercer and Eula Mae Brock Weston. He was a truck driver. Survivors include a son, Charlie Marshall Mercer Jr. of Talmo; a daughter, Paige Mercer Stone and husband, John D. Stone, from Norcross; two brothers, Marvin Jasper Mercer and his wife, Zara, of Pink Hill, N.C., and Roland Melvin Mercer and his wife, JoAnn, of Beulaville, N.C.; five sisters, Nancy Sensenig of Gettysburg, Pa., Brunhilda Catherine Sullivan and her husband, Larry, of Mount Olive, N.C., Seiglenda Carolyn Lofton of La Grange, N.C., and Doris Charlene Woods and her husband, Nicky, of Kinston, N.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Charlie Marshall Mercer Sr. will be conducted on Sunday at 3 p.m. from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with the Rev. Henry Webb officiating. Internment will follow in the Jackson memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. Arrangements by Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, Ga.
