Charles C. Cogdell IV

DURHAM - Bishop Charles C. Cogdell IV, born on July 5, 1943, in Kinston, North Carolina to the late Mildred and Charles C. Cogdell III was funeralized June 10, 2014, in Durham, N.C. On Thursday, June 5, 2014, God called His soldier home. He received his education at Adkin High School where he was a part of the football team, #23. He graduated in 1963. He went on to join the U.S. Army and served two years. Upon leaving the Army, he became an Army reservist. On May 24, 1969, he joined in Holy matrimony to Linda Brown. To this union three children were born. He was employed by Glaxco Welcome, where he retired. He was a devoted pastor and the founder of Full Gospel Holiness Church in Durham and he loved his flock. His desire was that all of his members lived a life according to God's word and to have the best of everything life had to offer. He was very active in the church, community and events before becoming ill. His memories will be cherished in the hearts of his loved ones, his wife Linda B. Cogdell; one daughter, Lynette C. Johnson (Christopher) of Greensboro, N.C.; two sons, Charles C. Cogdell V. (Delisher) of Wendell, N.C. and Carlton L. Cogdell of the home; one brother, Alphonsia Cogdell (Delores) of Fayetteville, N.C.; one sister, Cyconia Cogdell of Kinston, N.C.; three grandchildren, Christina Johnson, Kalaiah Cogdell and Elgin Cogdell; one aunt, Esther Parker of Kinston, N.C.; one uncle, Alton Cogdell of Greenville, N.C.; an unforgettable classmate, Jerry Wiggins; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
