Hazel Pridgen Obituary

SNOW HILL - Mrs. Hazel Marie Edwards Pridgen, 86, died Thursday morning November 21, 2013. Mrs. Pridgen was born September 28, 1927, the daughter of Henry and Mary Davis Edwards. She was a native of Greene County and retired from the Greene County Board of Education where she worked as a secretary. She was a member of the Rainbow United Methodist church and served as the church secretary for many years. She was a volunteer at the Greene County museum and the Greene County Interfaith and had worked as a hospice caregiver. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 23, at the Snow Hill Cemetery with the Reverend Tony Calhoon officiating. Her surviving family includes her sons, Ronald William Pridgen and wife Claudia, of Hookerton, Franklin Pridgen of Snow Hill, and Lendy Pridgen of Raleigh; granddaughter, Rhonda P. Miller and husband Jerry, of Snow Hill; great-grandchildren, Whitney Nicole Combs, Stacey Hamilton and Casey Cash; great-great grandchildren, Paisley Hamilton and Avery Cash. The family will receive friends immediately following the service and at other times at her home 195, Pridgen Road, Snow Hill. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rainbow UMC c/o Ray Pridgen, 704 Greenridge Road, Snow Hill, NC 28580 or the Greene County Interfaith, P.O. box 1041, Snow Hill, NC, 28580.
