Nancy and I were friends and classmates at Central High and at U. T. We shared many experiences and good times as we grew up in those years. I have lived away from Knoxville since 1956. It was a pleasure to read about Nancy's years of great activities in the community and her continuing help for so many people. She was a fine woman and a truly good citizen.

Dear Herman and family,
You have my deepest sympathy as Nancy makes her transition from this daily life into the next.
Nancy made the most of her alloted time and contributed so much of herself to so many. She will be missed.
Her positive attitude, cheerfulness, quick wit and competence provided her leadership qualities which she certainly put to good use.
You must cherish the difference she made.
We graduated from Central High in the class of 1952. I was fortunate to visit with her on my return trips and have fond memories.
Peace be with each of you.

My deepest sympathy goes out to Herman and the entire family !!!
As a caregiver for Nancy, I only had the privilege of knowing her for a short while. She was a very wonderful lady, who always had a beautiful smile on her face and a kind word. She only came into my life for a short time, but I truly believe it was for a reason. She showed me the world and it's wonders through her eyes. I treasure the time we spent together. My life has definitely been made richer just by knowing her, and her humor enriched all who knew her. I will always hold her close to my heart !!!!! Many prayers, much love, and my deepest sympathy, Amy Edgar

I worked with Nancy at Fort Sanders - i was the Asst. Director of Volunteers for a few months after she became Director (I retired when I had my first child - 26 years ago!). She was so wonderful, gracious and fun to work with! I often saw her around Knoxville in the years since and she was always so friendly and interested in what was going on in my and my family's life. I am praying for all who loved her - she will be greatly missed!

Nancy was a grand lady! She was smart and sweet and helpful and kind and all those other things we admire and appreciate so much. She handled her illness and bad days with grace and style, just as she did her great days. Nancy was a high school classmate, and she will be greatly missed by the entire class. I know that Herman has lost a wonderful friend. Our deepest sympathy, Herman.
