Nelson Tyler Truitt

TRUITT, NELSON TYLER - son of the late Lester Loveless and Willie Mae Truitt, was born on November 5, 1951 in West Point, GA. His walk on this side ended early on the morning of April 10, 2010. He joined Emanuel Presbyterian Church and was active in the praise choir until his death. Preceded in death by his son, Devine King. He leaves to cherish his memories: his lovely wife, Vanessa Bassett Truitt; 2 sons, Kipling (Paula) Colbert and Michael (Latoya) Truitt; 2 daughters, Chereka Truitt, and Lakeshia Jones, all of Knoxville, TN; 5 grandchildren; 4 brothers; one very special brother, Reverend Wilson (Dorothy) Barrett of LaGrange, GA, Wilbert (Flora) Barrett, Augusta, GA, Roy (Christine) Barrett and Willie Nelson all of LaGrange, GA; 3 sisters, Augusta (Michael) Bryant, Mary Anne Elliott and Mary Birdsong all of LaGrange, GA. A special loving father-in- law and mother-in-law Elbert and Pearlie Bassett; aunts, Lela Sands, West Point, GA, Katie Thompson, Detroit, Michigan; uncle, Leonard Truitt; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Family will receive friends on Friday, April 16, 2010 from 5:00 - 6:00 PM with funeral services to follow at Emanuel Presbyterian Church. Reverend John A. Ghosten officiating.
