Hi Helen:
I'm Tina Baber Bush. My parents are John and Renee' Baber of Owingsville, Kentucky. Darryl was our pastor at the First United Methodist Church of Owingsville. You guys were good to our family. We were truly sorry to hear of his passing. May the Lord be with you and your family during this time of loss.

With the passing of Fred Hatmaker and now Darryl I have lost both of my high school heroes. Just listening to those two back then was a real treat. No words can alleviate the pain of losing a loved one but here is my offering.
Those we love don't go away,
They walk beside us every day,
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear.
Missing you old friend.

Prayers for you all in this time of loss. I was saddened to hear this news. I know that Darryl heard those dear words of the Savior we serve, "Well done Good and Faithful Servant!" We will miss him.

Helen Jean and family, I was sad for myself and you to hear of Darryl's death. I'm sure at this moment he is rejoicing; and I am jealous, for he has now seen the face of God. It takes my breath away to even imagine what Darryl is experiencing. May God's peace for you be just as breath-taking. I am priviledged to have known Darryl during his tenure as our pastor at St. Luke's. I am so proud of your granddaughter for her posts on Facebook. You can tell her Grandpa's blood runs through her veins. Love and Prayers.

Dear friends and family,
I met Darryl a year and a half ago when he was appointed at Saint Paul. It was over breakfast at the Cracker Barrel that I learned of his great sense of humor (he teased me about hogging the apple butter, and immediately, I felt comfortable in his presence). I wish I had more opportunities to serve along side Darryl, but I know our community has been richly blessed by his ministry. Sincerely, Amanda Bell Madson

Helen, It was such a blessing to be with you and Darryl. I could feel his faith as it was so deep that always looked forward to his presence. And you were such a wonderful part of his life. I just hope and pray that I can leave my fellow man with the same faith feeling and the glow with which it was shared. We love you are praying for strength. (guess he did hit that home run to Newcomb.)

Helen and Leslie, words cannot express my feelings right now. Helen, you know how I felt about Darryl. I loved him dearly. He was one of the finest men I have ever known. I put him up there with Mr. Barrett and he is THE finest man I know. My heart is broken to learn of Darryl's passing. My prayers and thoughts are with you now. May God grant you peace and comfort through this time. I love you dearly.
