Dinwiddie Mathis Obituary
He was a United States Navy Veteran, a graduate of the University of Kentucky, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and was a past president of Mago Construction Co., a past director of Wilson and Muir Bank and Trust Company, a former member of the Bardstown City Council, and was an original Bardstown Planning and Zoning Commissioner.
Survivors include his daughter, Rebecca Mathis Pickands (Cary), of West Palm Beach, Fla.; two sons, Mark R. Mathis (Debi) and Joseph "Tico" Mathis (Tana Hardin), both of Bardstown; and three grandchildren, Nika Mathis, Anya Mathis, and Aria Mathis.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto Cathedral with interment in St. Joseph Cemetery. The Rev. Bill Hammer will be the celebrant.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15, and after 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home. A prayer service will be at 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15, at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the New Life Center and the Nelson County Humane Society
Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
