Theodore Sazzmann Obituary

THEODORE EDWARD SAZZMANN DEC. 13, 1915 - FEB. 5, 2005 Lt. Colonel, U.S. Army Retired Service in WWII and the Korean War Theodore leaves a wife, Marianne; three sons, Hal, Paul and Ted Jr.; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. His extended family is George, his brother and Ruth, his aunt. Theodore embraced life with a zeal unparalleled by others and always sought out ways to help those who had less than he had. After WWII, he set up food centers for the German workers and provided shoes and uniforms from surplus military supplies which returned a sense of dignity to a country decimated by war. He went on to work on the Apollo Moon Shot Capsule for North American Rockwell, worked for Los Angeles County as a Construction Inspector, continuing on as a Consulting Engineer. At the age of 79, Theodore began his last adventure by joining the Masonic Order at the Home Lodge 721 in Van Nuys. He achieved his goal of finishing all 32 Degree Ceremonies and served as Roving Ambassador for both the Al Maleikah and Aloha Shrines from Los Angeles and Hawaii. He and Marianne, his wife, visited Hawaii every year for the past 17 years, having spent seven months over there this past year. Theodore's Viewing at Praiswater Funeral Home was held on Thursday, February 10, 2005. His Masonic and Tradi tional Funeral Service was held on February 11, 2005, also at Praiswater presided over by the Reverend Doctor Gary Alan Dickey, a tribute luncheon was held at the Van Nuys Masonic Lodge on February 12, 2005 and his final Interment was conducted at the Riverside National Veterans Cemetery, with full Military Honors, a firing squad and a final taps on Monday, February 14, 2005, his family and friends looking on. Theodore will be greatly missed by all who crossed his path.
