Richard Bonyata Obituary

Mr. Richard Mayne (Rick) Bonyata (47) of Kingwood, Texas, passed away on January 19, at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, Texas, as a result of complications of the H1N1 flu.
Rick was born in Tallahassee, Florida, to Dick and Marilee Bonyata, and grew up in Lake City. He graduated from Columbia High School in 1984. He attended Florida State University, graduating with a degree in electrical engineering. He worked as an electrical engineer/forensic consultant with McDowell Owens Engineering in Houston.
Rick was preceded in death by his infant son Kyle and his father, Richard Bonyata.
Rick is survived by his three daughters Lindsay Hellman (Judd), twins, Abbey and Chelsea, and their mother, Cindy Moore Bonyata. Also surviving is his very special new granddaughter, Brooklyn Marie Hellman, as well as his mother, Marilee Bonyata, sisters Rebecca Lambert (John) and Betsy Upchurch (Jimmy), his brother Chuck Bonyata (Vikki) and friend, Megan Matherne.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, January 24, 2014, at the Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church with Pastor Louie Mabrey officiating. Visitation with the family will be held Thursday evening, January 23, 2014, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

I never got to tell you so I'll tell you now. these past few years that we got to spend time together really getting to know each other and getting to Talking to you about the more spiritual parts of life is something Ill take with me forever. I always wanted to have those talks w papa but I just wasn't ready to back then. We all miss you Uncle Ricky and are so greatful to get call you family.

I didn't know Rick but Meagan is my great niece and heard from her mom mom Pattie Kelly how much she loved him I know his mother, sister and children will miss him greatly. I lost my only son in 1974 and a stepson in 2010 and know it is not easy loosing a child. I just want to say keep your faith in God as he is the only one that will help you thru your time of sorrow.
