Taught judo at the YMCA. A very generous and patient man considering we were mostly 8th and 9th graders.

Our deepest sympathies go out to all his family. Herb loved and embraced life. The Lancaster Parks and Olivedale Senior Center were something that he dearly loved. Through his beautiful photography he has preserved countless memories for all to enjoy for many years to come. You will be missed.

Uncle Herb was a kind and gentle man that could hug you or drop you with judo expertise. We spend many nights catfishing on Lake Logan and he even let me ride his motorcyle which I blew out the carbon. He was loved and respected by family and friends and will be dearly missed. God's speed, Uncle Herb!

I have nothing but fond memories of Herb and his undying support of the OU-L Theatre (back in the day). His countless photographs and videos are all that remain of a remarkable time in many of our lives. Thank you, Herb - you were one of a kind.

Herb was our junior high math teacher at General Sherman. He taught the class so it was understandable to our young minds. Our thoughts are prayers are with his family. He was a great person.
