Gary
What a shock when I had heard you had passed. Seems like I have known you all my life. I remember living in the trailor court down by Sugar Grove on 33. You made life fun for not only me but my sister and brothers and every other kid that lived there. I remember all of us kids waiting for your truck to pull in and us all chasing it home with your horn blowing to amuse us because we knew you would be excited to see all of us and come out to the playground and play and act like a kid with us all. We all loved you then and still did as we grew up and your family and ours both moved from there to Bremen. Your family and mine had been friends for over 40 years. I remember you putting in Dads pond and all of us eating together and pouring down the Pepsi's and all of us kids playing while you and Dad cut up trees and my Dads leg. I remember how sad you where when my Dad passed because you losted your good friend. Now we are all sad because we lost ours. I hope You and Dad are up there in Heaven making each other laugh the way you did down here with those pranks and jokes you to use to say and pull. Rest in Peace my friend you are going to be greatly missed by my family and all that new and loved you. I will never forget how good you was to all of us kids as we where growing up Thank You for your kindness.
Love Always

You only get to meet one Gary in your life, he made my gravel driveway look like an airport runway when he got done with it. I live less than a mile from him and I could always tell when he drove by, hammer down and heading for his next job, loud and proud...

I'll miss that man but I'll always think that he was happier than you and I, it seemed that he knew just a little bit more than you did and you were the better for it.

My sincere condolences to all of the family for the loss of such a wonderful man, he truly was one of a kind.

As I read through these entries, I have tears going down my cheeks. When I first met your dad, He scared me, As years went by, I realized he was not the scarey guy that grumbled at Lisa and I in the 7th grade. You 4 are very fortunate to have had your dad. I am glad that I have been as close to your family that I have. You all stick together in times of need and are there for each other (and that is so very special). Your dad was a great guy and is very proud of all of you.

My Love,Heart & Prayers all go out to Chad-Lisa-Tara(Berk)-Ryan(Lindsay)and to my Great-Nieces and Nephews. I guess what sticks out is when I tracked Gary down after I returned from Guam. He was down on Rt. 312 loading a mower. I walked up and told him I had missed him and I needed a bear hug. I always had to ask but he always gave it. When I'd got homesick I always went to Bremen and looked him up. I will miss seeing Gary and I loved him. I'm only a phone call away if you need anything.
My Love to You all----Aunt Carol

i met gary about 13 years ago at our favorite watering hole the berne staion. he was cleaned up ready to go out on the town. i noticed he had old tennis shoes on. about an hour of talking and conversation he was convinced no one would look at his shoes. and if it bother me that much maybe i should buy him some new shoes. so i threw down a 50 dollar bill for him to get a new pair. the follwing day he bought me back the change. of 30dollars and some odd cents. and showed me his new velcrow shoes. there after for a long time he bragged abut how nash bought him a new pair of shoes. (gary and i had fun with this for years to come). i wish i had the opportunity to do it again. i love you and will miss you for ever friend. keep the dirt flying. thanks for every thing you have ever done for me

I remember Gary from his younger days, as a fellow rider, and veteran I am sorry for your lose. As far as liking "Dirt", that was the first image that came to mind when I got the news, the last few time I saw him, Gary it looked like he had taken a bath in brake dust. Both living and dying doing the things he liked, makes it easier to see his passing.

Gary you were so full of life! I will miss you going by and honking your big truck. Or if you saw us out front, stopping your big blue truck on a dime just ot chat or ask how we were doing. My first memory of you is when i had a big fire going in the garden area of our yard, you came in thru the pine trees and told me your were the fire marshall and i had to have a permit to have a big fire like that, lol. Although i knew who you were by hearing all about you before meeting you. After that everytime i would see you, you would always have something funny to say to make me laugh. You will be saddly miss in this neighborhood! You were as big as life itself and the world was YOUR world. You were one of the hardest workers i have ever know, always into something, lol.
My heart goes out to all of your family and friends because they are now missing one of the biggest parts of their family. You never knew a stranger. RIP big guy!

Gary and I were born next door to each other, one year apart. One early memory of Gary was playing baseball together in his parents' backyard. He could turn a "walk" into a "home run" better than anyone I knew. He never stopped running.
