Alan C. WEINBERGER

WEINBERGER, Alan C. Oct. 5, 1914-Feb. 14, 2012 Alan C. Weinberger, 97, passed away February 14th, 2012 at his home in Westwood, CA with his wife Dorothy by his bed side. Alan was born in Chicago, IL, and lived for a short time in New York City, and moved with his family to Los Angeles, CA in 1930 - 31. He graduated from Fairfax High School and attended the University of So. California. In Oct. 1937, Alan married his beloved wife Dorothy in Chicago and they then made Los Angeles their home. Last year, Alan and Dorothy celebrated their 74th wedding anniversary surrounded by four generations of family. Alan served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He was an avid golfer his entire adult life following and recording televised major tournaments as a hobby, and was a fan of USC Trojan football. He loved music from an early age, no doubt a major influence in the family. Alan's career interests lead him to the stock market both as a broker and talented technical analyst, whose opinions and charting techniques were highly respected by his peers.
Of Alan's most proud accomplishments, being surrounded by family was always top on his list. Survived by his loving wife Dorothy, son Irv (Nancy) Weinberger, daughter Judi (Wim) Lubeek, and "Papa" to granddaughters Lesley Weinberger, Jamey (Adam) Sussman and Allison Nuyen. Great-grandchildren, Abigail and Gavin Sussman. Step grandchildren, Jennifer (Elliott) Dale, and Seth Dershewitz, and step great-granddaughters Madeleine and Elizabeth. Alan was pre-deceased by his grandson, Daniel Nuyen and his sister, Leona Pattiz. He was loved by his many nieces and nephews and by his close friends. The family wishes to deeply thank Noel and all the wonderful and loving caregivers who shared their healing spirit and undivided attention with Alan during his final years at home. Also wishing to acknowledge his nurse, Elizabeth for her care and advice. Funeral services will be held Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012 at 11 AM at Hillside Memorial Park (800) 576-1994, 6001 Centinela Ave. Los, Angeles, CA 90045. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alan's memory to the charity of your choice.
