Arnold Abajian Obituary

May 12, 1914 - February 27, 2014 Arnold Abajian was born in Los Angeles to Margaret and Edward Abajian, immigrants who arrived from Armenia in 1913. He married Jean Peters in 1939 and always "felt lucky" for her in his life. Arnold and Jean moved from Alhambra to Laguna Beach in 1968 where both enjoyed golf, making new friends, and playing courses around the world. After Jean died in 2000, Arnold continued to golf and enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren's visits. He regularly gave away the canes and walking sticks he made from branches gathered on his walks. He was an active charter member of the Orange County Triple X Armenian Fraternity. Arnold lived a remarkable life as a determined, steadfast and witty man. He is survived by his children, Steven Abajian, Kathryn Abajian, and Susan Hernandez, his sister Stella Scelsca and brother Edward Claymore, and his sister in law, Sally Nobile, as well as eight grandchildren and their spouses, thirteen great grandchildren, and nine nieces and nephews. His brother George Thomas, sisters Sara Kazarian and Mary Dorian and nephews Joey Nobile and Anthony Dorian predeceased him.
