We are profoundly saddened by the loss of Patricia M. Egan who passed away at home on August 20, 2011 surrounded by her children.
Born in Brooklyn NY, Patricia was an "Irish Beauty", crowned Miss Brooklyn, Miss Coney Island, Miss New York Press Photographer. She was a favorite dancer at the Copacabana performing with Jimmy Durante and Danny Thomas, and graced the cover of LOOK! magazine.
After arriving in Los Angeles, she signed to Universal, starred in "The Unlighted Road" with James Dean, films "Girls in the Night", "Don't Knock the Rock", and TV shows such as "Perry Mason", "Lassie", and "Mike Hammer".
In 1956, Patricia met Richard Egan, her one true love. They married in June 1958, and were considered one of Hollywood's best couples. While they dined with kings, presidents and Hollywood elite, their greatest happiness came from their five children - Patricia, Kathleen, Colleen, Richard Jr., and Maureen, whom they raised on the core value of "Family first."
After 30 years together, Richard passed in 1987. Patricia, ever the survivor, began working at Canyon Beachwear, the swimwear boutique owned by her daughter and son-in-law. Patricia was a top seller, and beloved confidant to all coworkers and many customers.
Patricia was preceded into Heaven by husband Richard, parents Mary & Bill, sisters Kathleen & Maureen. Her legacy lives on in her five children, their spouses & grandchildren: Patricia & Kevin Daehnke, Kathleen & William Mudd, Colleen & Mike Moser, Richard & Rachael Egan, Maureen & Matthew Barry, and 14 cherished grandchildren Shannon & Griffin Daehnke; Liam, Collin, & Kennedy Mudd; Megan, Amanda, Blake & Mark Moser; Richie, Beth, Caroline & Willis Egan; and Molly Barry.
