Waltman, Michael Gordon
November 6, 1946 - April 27, 2011
Michael Gordon Waltman, of Pacific Palisades, died Wednesday, April 27, 2011 in his home. He was 64 years old.

He was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 6, 1946, the son of Dorothy and Gordon Waltman. His family moved to Phoenix, Arizona when he was a child. He lived there for 41 years. In 1994, he moved to Los Angeles, California, to pursue an acting career. He became a highly accomplished actor who performed in many movie, television, theatrical and commercial roles. Some of his most notable television roles were in NYPD Blue, The Practice, and ER. He also had roles in movies such as Van Wilder, Beyond the Law, Arizona Heat, and other films.

He was a Vietnam veteran and recipient of the Purple Heart, having served aboard a guided missile cruiser during his tour from 1967 to 1969. He was an avid gun collector with decades of expertise in their history and usage. He also loved horseback riding, history, reading, Apple computers and his country. He was a very loving, kind and magnanimous person who was devoted to his family.

He is survived by his wife, Dr. Judith Welles and a daughter, Jennifer Welles; a daughter, Kristen Greulach, her husband, Chris, and their children, Henry and Rupert; a daughter Tsia Fraunces, her husband, George, and their children Madelyn and David; a daughter, Sherrie Lamb and her children, Mackenzie and Nicholas; a son, Matthew Waltman, his wife, Gabriela Waltman and their children, Sofia and Alex; a son, Brandon Waltman, his wife Katy Linton-Waltman, and their children, Janey and Joseph Waltman; and a son, Sandro Watson, his wife, Charla Watson, and their children, Julia and Andrew.

There will be a showing from noon to 3 pm on Saturday, May 7th, at Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Memorial Park and Mortuary in Los Angeles. Burial will be in Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, CA.

You have family who love you beyond words..My heartfelt sympathy goes out to all who have been touched by your presence in their lives.
To my husband Brandon: Take comfort in knowing that your dad loved you tremendously. Take comfort in knowing that he knew without a doubt how much you loved him.
