Grenzbach, Charles W. (80)
of Rancho Mirage, CA. died March 29, 2004 in Palm Desert, CA of diabetes. Born December 29, 1923 to Frank (Hugo) Grenzbach and Virginia Winter in New York City, NY. He married Jill Stevens on April 21, 1977 in Honolulu, HI. He was a recording soundmixer-freelance, and a member of ot the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Science. Mr. Grenzbach won an Oscar for best sound for Platoon in 1986. He served in the Army Air Corps. from 1944-1945. Survived by wife Jill Gernzbach of Rancho Mirage, CA; stepdaughter Jann Wilson of Forest Ville, CA and stepson Bruce Michaels of Burbank, CA; 2 step grandchildren and 2 step-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by son Geoffrey Grenzbach and brother Edward Grenzbach. Visitation will be private. Private interment will be at Honolulu, HI with Wiefels & Son, 690 Vella Rd., Palm Springs, CA 92264 in charge of arrangements. The family suggests memorials to Charity of Choice.
