Clarence "Charley" Fong, 77, passed away on Nov. 10, 2010. He was born in Shreveport, Louisiana and resided in Henderson, Nevada the last 17 years. "Clancy" to his classmates, was a graduate of the US Naval Academy in Annapolis. He served in the Korean and Vietnam wars. After a short career with Litton Industries, he became a restauranteur. He ran a Polynesian nightclub called Latitude 20, then a chain of Mexican restaurants called Miguel's in the South Bay. He is survived by his wife, Joyce; daughters, Jennifer (Ron) Purisima and Janet (Kevin) Leong; grandchildren, Ryan, Russell, Justin and Rachel; siblings, Jean, Ben (Carol), Dorothy (Garvin), David (Andrea), Edmond (Gerry) and Frances (Larry); and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by brother, Albert and sister, Kim. Clarence was a good person, honest and truthful. He will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held on December 4, 2010 at 11:00 am, Evergreen Baptist Church SGV, 323 Workman Mill Rd., La Puente, Ca 91746. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Chinese Cong.
