Clarence Fong Obituary

Fong, Clarence
March 3, 1933 - November 10, 2010
Clarence "Charley" Fong, 77, passed away on Nov. 10, 2010. He was born in Shreveport, Louisiana and resided in Henderson, Nevada the last 17 years. "Clancy" to his classmates, was a graduate of the US Naval Academy in Annapolis. He served in the Korean and Vietnam wars. After a short career with Litton Industries, he became a restauranteur. He ran a Polynesian nightclub called Latitude 20, then a chain of Mexican restaurants called Miguel's in the South Bay. He is survived by his wife, Joyce; daughters, Jennifer (Ron) Purisima and Janet (Kevin) Leong; grandchildren, Ryan, Russell, Justin and Rachel; siblings, Jean, Ben (Carol), Dorothy (Garvin), David (Andrea), Edmond (Gerry) and Frances (Larry); and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by brother, Albert and sister, Kim. Clarence was a good person, honest and truthful. He will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held on December 4, 2010 at 11:00 am, Evergreen Baptist Church SGV, 323 Workman Mill Rd., La Puente, Ca 91746. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Chinese Cong. Church at 11636 Lower Azusa Rd. El Monte, Ca 91732 or the charity of your choice.
