David Negri Obituary
January 29.1927 - August 9, 2011
Former CA State Assemblyman David Negri peacefully passed away on August 9, 2011. Dave was born January 29, 1927 in Burbank, CA, son of Morris and Sarah (Mazon) Negri. He served in the U.S. Maritime Service during WWII and was heralded a hero when he was the last to leave his burning vessel, SS Royal Oak. Dave was an attorney and active community member, including Pres. of the Lions Club and Chairman of North Valley March of Dimes, to name just a few. During his tenure as Assemblyman, he served on many committees and was instrumental in the passage of the Pure Air Act of 1968. Dave was a devoted husband and loving father. He opened his heart and home to those in need. He is survived by his cherished wife, Fern, adoring children Don, Debbie, Sharon, Kari, Renea, and Brian, and beloved grandchildren. He is also survived by Kelly, Gary, Stephanie and a broad extended family. Services will be held at Eden Memorial Park in Mission Hills on Sunday, Aug. 14 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a local Lions Club in Dave's honor.
