I was privileged to work with her for many years. She was a gracious hostess, a generous friend, and a stimulating mentor. I'm sure she's off exploring with Quincy, Rae, and Charles. A toast to you, Elaine.

Los Angeles Magazine named her one of the best people in LA one year, and she was. A smart, generous, gracious, funny and thought provoking woman, I was proud to know her and consider her a friend. My thoughts are with her family who will miss her and to all the architecture students who will never have the chance to know her.

I met Elaine once in 2004 when Victor Regnier took his Great Houses of Los Angeles class from the University of Southern California to tour Quincy Jones' Barn House. She was a beautiful, intelligent and amiable character and I am so honored to have met her in her home.

Elaine was always bright, gracious, and an ardent custodian of her husband's architectural legacy. She is the last of a very important generation in LA's history.
