Ethel LUREY Obituary

LUREY, Ethel Ethel Lurey died peacefully on Saturday, October 9, surrounded by her loving children, family members, and friends. She is survived by daughter Nadya; son Michael Lurey and daughter-in-law Laurie Hasencamp; daughter Beth Lurey-Titus and son-in-law Mark Titus; brother Bill Hellman and sister-in-law Rochelle Blank; sister and brother-in-law Jane and Bob Felixson; granddaughter and grandson-in-law Jennifer and Greg Kovacs and their children Savannah and Makenna; grandson Jeremy Lurey and his children Dylan and Amanda; grandson Chas Titus; granddaughter Marissa Titus. Ethel Ruth Hellman was born in Chicago on April 21, 1914 - the same year Wrigley Field opened. Ethel married Harvey Lurey in 1940. They raised three children and Ethel was voted the "favorite mom" on the block. Ethel and Harvey moved to Leisure World in Laguna Woods in 1978. Ethel was widowed in 1983 and continued making a wonderful life for herself with her friends, bridge, mahjong, travel, golf, and her treasured children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In 2005 Ethel moved to Pacific Palisades.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 12, at 2 p.m. at Hillside Memorial Park in Los Angeles. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Kehillat Israel, 16019 Sunset Blvd., Pacific Palisades, CA 90272.
