The photos are terrific. Floyd was lucky to have such a big loving family. You can see he had a full and happy life. I'm sorry for all his loved ones who will miss him so much.

I have so many wonderful memories of Papoo. From spending the weekends at his house when I was little; bring him coffee in the morning to wake him up. Then, once he was up telling me I need to learn to make my bed. To 3 1/2 years ago going to Disneyland and riding ALL the rides (practically running from ride to ride). Papoo was a wonderful and fun grandpa and I loved him to pieces. I am and always will be a Dodger fan because of him.
I love you with all my heart Papoo.
Your oldest grandchild,

Bez
I guess your Dad has a first name...although I think I must have been 10 or 11 years old before I ever figured that out. To me...to all the neighborhood kids he was just Bez. Bez on his way to the liquor store, Bez on his way to the Bradley dump...always with truck-bed full of kids...and by the end of the trip half the neighborhood had an abba zaba bar or an orange crush soda...courtesy of Bez.
Bez liked projects. Putting in a new lawn, re-glassing and painting a boat, sinking a doughboy pool...these were not just projects, they were neighborhood events that brought the big kids, the little kids, and even the adults together...and they seemed to last forever.
Your Dad taught me how to fish...how to water ski...how to drive a boat...how to play pitch...Bez sang "born to loose" every time he got great cards...and especially how to laugh. That is surely what I remember most about your Dad...he was fun and he was funny. He could always lighten the mood, always make people laugh...and in doing so...he convinced me of the importance of humor...I always wanted to be funny like Bez...because everyone liked Bez.
Time seems to change everything...even the good things...but at 50 years of age your Dad still referred to me as Jimmy Ermer...and to me he will always be Bez.

I just want to let everyone know what a wonderful father my Dad was. He loved being a father and it showed. He,along with our mother, always made sure we had a great life. Every summer included a family camping trip with fun in the ski boat. We enjoyed a 20" doughboy pool that Dad sunk into the ground by hand digging a 4' deep hole and hauling the dirt out by wheelbarrow. Birthdays and Christmas's were always made special. I will miss my Dad always, in particular his sense of humor and how happy he made me feel when I was with him. I know how lucky I am to have had the childhood he provided.I also know he will always be with me.
"Thank You Dad"
If I could have chosen a father
whose love and understanding
surpassed all others...
I would have chosen you
If I could have
Picked someone with
wisdom and faith, and a quiet,
gentle strength
You would be my choice
If I could have known how deeply
your influence would touch my life
through the years...
I would have said thank you sooner

hey papoooo, me and my family just watched a video of you at my 9th birthday party! You made us all laugh at least 5 times. I wish I could go back in time and spend more time with you. Luckily I visited you a ton the past few months. I'm so glad that you were my grandpa.
I miss you papoo.
Love,
Joey

Chris, Although we did not know your father well, if you are a reflection of him, then he was a good man. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family as you celebrate his life. Great Pictures.

My deepest sympathy goes out to the Besvold family with the passing of Floyd. He was a true one a kind individual that always made my visits to the Besvold house memorable. He always had a smile on his face and was quick with a joke. His infectious laugh and his Mexico fishing stories are that of legend, he will be missed.

What a wonderful friend we have lost this week, a man who always had a smile for everyone he met. He was a man who loved and was proud of his wife, his children, his grandchildren and his country. I never heard him speak an unkind word about anyone in all the years I knew him. He was such a good, good man. A close friend to Tom and I for many, many years; we will miss Bez for the rest of our days. We will never pass a video poker game without seeing him there and lord knows I will never cook up a batch of home made hash browns without smiling about how he loved to tease Merry about her frozen ones! During Merry and Bez's last trip to to our city we took a tour of Chicago's many mob related historic locations (including a visit to Al Capone's grave). Bez was like a kid in a candy store, what a great time we had!
To the family, take pride in knowing you come from such great beginnings.
May the love and comfort you receive in the next few days and weeks support you always, and know that thanks to your memories he will never really leave you.
Merry, you showed your love for him every day in every way. You gave him the kind of compassionate and loving care that the rest of us can only dream about....and best of all, he knew it.
Tom and I will always be there to love and support you....but then again, so will Bez.....you only have to close your eyes.
With love always,
