It is with great sorrow and deep loss that we announce that Gerald J. Theodore, 98 years of age, passed away peacefully on October 7th, 2010, in Culver City, California. Services will start at 9:00 am, Mass at noon, October 13, 2010 at Holy Cross Cemetery, Culver City.
Gerald J. Theodore was born in Spring Valley, Illinois, to Masimo and Paolina Theodore on September 16th, 1912. He went to school at Spring Valley High School. In 1935, Gerald made a short visit to California with his best friend Sunny Reese. They traveled by hopping a freight train; Gerald was 23 years old. Gerald like California so much that he decided to re-locate there. Gerald returned to California 1937 driving cross country with his brother, Clarence. After arriving to Los Angeles California, Gerald settled in and went to work, and began to establish what would be his life long career as an accountant. In 1940 Gerald married Joan Cordova in Los Angeles, California where they began family and raised their four sons. Gerald enjoyed many outdoor activities with his family and friends, particularly golfing, boating and traveling.
Gerald survived by his wife Joan Theodore and their 4 sons, David, Raymond, Richard, and John. 8 Grandchildren: Debbie, Carrie, Laurie, Tina, Derek, Jennifer, Jonathan, and Suzie. 8 Great-Grandchildren: He will be missed by many.
