Our family is deeply saddened by the passing of Dr Looney. My mother Clara Stokes Orander and her family grew up with Dr Looney in Crumpler and attended his fathers Methodist Church. My mother still lives in Lake City, Fl at age 84, the last of the family of bus driver Richard Orander.

This is sad and shocking news. Gerry and I shared the same birthday and a friendship in Beaver. May God's love and grace comfort his California family and friends along with those of us back East.

My deepest condolence to your family on the passing of this fine man and humanitarian. Though it has been many years since I last spoke with Gerald at a high school reunion, I remember that he had never changed over the years. Your obituary statement as to his character cannot be improved upon.
Blessings and peace to you all.
