Helena Vernon Obituary
April 26, 1921 - September 2, 2010
Helena (Cookie) Vernon died on Tuesday, November 2, 2010, of heart failure in Long Beach, California, at age 89. Helena was in the Army Nursing Corps, and was honorably discharged as a Major in 1971. She served for many years as a docent at the Los Angeles Zoo. Helena loved to play her mandolin, and often entertained her friends and relatives with it. The burial service will be at Riverside National Cemetery from 1:15 PM to 1:45 PM on Thursday, November 18, 2010. Contact [email protected] for further information.
