Jack BRODY Obituary

BRODY, Jack Irwin Passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2010 at 92 surrounded by loving family. Born the youngest of 5 brothers to Harry and Rebecca Brody on July 25, 1918 in Madison, IL, he grew up in Centerville, Iowa and enlisted in the Army in WWII. He served with General Omar Bradley's First Army, achieving the rank of Major and was Trial Judge Advocate in Germany following the war. He received his law degree from University of Iowa Law School and in 1954, moved his family to Los Angeles, pursuing a career as a banker and stockbroker. He retired in 1993 from Bear Stearns. Jack is survived by wife Florence Davidson Brody; son Dennis Brody and daughter-in-law Ruth Daniels Brody; daughter Jan Goldstein and son-in-law Howard Goldstein; son Dr. Lawrence Greenblatt; daughter Connie O'Connor and son-in-law Ted O'Connor; grandchildren Rabbi Baruch HaLevi, Rebecca Rosen, Melanie Sterling, Scott Slutzky, Zachary Perelman, Mitchell Greenblatt, and Makenzie Greenblatt; and great grandchildren, Yehuda, Maya, Shoshana, Jakob and Samuel.
Jack will be deeply missed by his family and those who knew this special man. Services are today at 11 a.m. at Hillside Memorial Park, 6001 Centinela Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90045.
