Jacquelyn Frances Zins SCHUNK

Jacquelyn SCHUNK Obituary

SCHUNK, Jacquelyn Frances Zins May 25, 1931-November 11, 2010 Jacquelyn, 79, died November 11, 2010, with her family by her side in Newport Beach, CA. Born May 25, 1931 to Mary McCarthy and George Zins in the City of Los Angeles, Jackie shared fond memories of working in an office position for the City of Los Angeles in her 20's, but her favorite activity was dancing which was how she met her wonderful late husband Les Schunk at the USO. After marrying and starting a family with two beautiful children, Jackie and Les took permanent residence in Corona Del Mar. There they owned a family auto business until 2007 and she continued to live and enjoy the beautiful beach city after her husband passed on. Jackie was a devoted Catholic and liked to share that passion with others in her life. She enjoyed volunteering at Crystal Cove Beach, actively playing bridge, bunko and Texas hold 'em where she made great friends, not to mention jetting off to gamble at a whim. No crossword puzzle event the Times or scrabble game could stump her. No one can argue that Jackie's favorite activity was spending time with her loving family, who she was always devoted to and who will miss her greatly.
She is survived by sister, Barbara Gulick; and sisters-in-law, June Zins and Ilene Zins; brothers, Jerry and Frank Zins; daughter Teri Ostrander; son, Lester Schunk; son-in-law, Craig; grandson-in-law, Corey; granddaughters Heather, Lacey, Danielle and Julia; grandsons, Jordan and Josh; great-grandson Adrian and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2010, 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Angels in Newport Beach, CA. Trade a smile for a tear because Nana and Papa are dancing in heaven to together.
