Marcia (Heffelfinger) Long passed away peacefully on August 12, 2010 in Hopkins, Minnesota.
Marcia Marilyn Marshall was born in California in 1924 to Pearl Annette (Drew) Marshall and Marcus McLemore Marshall. Her father died in 1930 and her mother married Frank Long.

Marcia grew up on the 42,000 acre Marshallia Ranch with 13 miles of California coastline (Edwin Jessop Marshall purchased it in 1906 as the Rancho de Jesus Maria). The Marshallia Ranch was requisitioned by the US military just prior to Pearl Harbor and is now Vandenburg Air Force Base. She also lived in Beverly Hills and Hermosa Beach.

Marcia attended Catholic boarding schools, graduated Marymount High School in Los Angeles, went on to Stanford University (1942-44) and San Jose State Teachers College.

In 1945 Marcia married Marcus Willard Kidder Heffelfinger of Minneapolis, MN and divorced in 1981. Marcia was preceded in death by her son, Mark (Marcus Kidder Heffelfinger 1946-1986). Marcia is survived by her children: Kate (Todd) Schlapfer, Spokane WA; Reed Heffelfinger, Mpls MN , Eric (Margy) Heffelfinger, Vashon WA, (Mary D. Heffelfinger) Mpls Mn; her grandchildren: Chris Heffelfinger, Hon Schlapfer, Josh Heffelfinger, Kendra Schlapfer and Hart Heffelfinger and great grandchildren: Mia Heffelfinger and Lucia Schlapfer.

Leslie Ewing Kriz - Rimbey, Alberta Canada. (Sherm and Claire's youngest daughter. ) (Truck sent this to us.)
My condolences to all of you. Marcia's life story is very interesting. I remember mom and dad speaking of her. Living so far away, I don't recall having the chance to meet her. May God grant you comfort during this hard time.
