Marjorie Crispin Obituary

Crispin, Marjorie Holmes
October 17, 1924 - November 2, 2010
Marjorie Homes Crispin passed away quietly on November 2nd at the age of 86. Born in Los Angeles on October 17, 1924, she was the youngest daughter of Webster and Marion Holmes. She attended Marlborough and UCLA, where she was a Kappa Alpha Theta. In 1947, she married Dick Simpson. Together they had three daughters. She was active in Junior League and Las Madrinas. After divorcing in 1963, she married J. Hewes Crispin in 1966 and moved the family to San Francisco. She was active with friends and as a docent at the De Young Museum. When Hewes retired, they moved to Santa Barbara where she was involved with the Music Academy of the West and the Santa Barbara Zoo. She loved to play bridge and entertain. She always centered her life around her favorite things, Hewes, her children and her dogs. We will all remember her love of life, friends, dancing, animals and nature, and will miss the twinkle in her beautiful blue eyes.

She was preceded in death by Hewes on September 5th. She will be missed by her sister, Jo McLain (Newport Beach) and her children, Barbara (Ed) Meserve, Diane Cunningham, Carol (Kevin) Colgate, her grand children, Rob (Leslie) Meserve and Scott (Mercedes) Meserve and her four great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Music Academy of the West at 1070 Fairway Road, Santa Barbara, CA 93108 would be greatly appreciated.
