Martinez, Mercedes G.
July 13, 1937 - October 11, 2010
Age: 73. Originally from Greeley, Colo. Divorced, she moved to L.A. County in 1973 with her 5 children. She loved country and gospel music. She also had a strong faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. She shared her faith with family and friends and was known for her beautiful smile. She worked for many years as a CNA in Whittier and El Monte. She later graduated from the American Nanny College and worked as a teacher at Light House Christian Pre-school. She succumbed to Lung Cancer on Monday evening at 6:08 pm. She is survived by her children Stevie L. Gomez, Kimberly Gomez, Michael R. Martinez, Roxann Carrillo and Ralph Martinez. She also had five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Viewing will be on Thurs. Oct 21 at Richardson-Peterson Funeral Home 123 W. 'G' Street in Ontario, from 4pm - 8pm. Service will be on Fri. Oct 22 at 10am. Interment will be at Forest Lawn in Covina. Family and Friends will then gather at 1512 E. 5th St. in Ontario.
