Totty Ames Obituary

November 3, 1922 - July 10, 2015 Actress, model, singer and Beloved Friend Born Estelle Totty in Oklahoma City and after graduating high school immediately hopped a bus bound for Hollywood. It wasn't long before the raven-haired beauty was discovered by leading photographers and hired to model clothing, swim wear and lingerie. She was catapulted to pin-up status and named, among other titles, Miss Night Fighter of 1943. Totty quickly joined the ranks of Hollywood dress extras, appearing in dozens of films working her way up to guest starring roles on television. Her ultimate acting assignment came when she co-starred with James Coburn in the film "In Like Flint". At age 65, Totty made her professional singing career performing in leading Los Angeles cabarets. Her career included Executive Assistant to Neil Diamond and co-owner of a designer showroom. Totty's final resting place is Forest Lawn Glendale.

I met Totty through a mutual friend in 1972. We shared the same birthday....Nov. 3rd. She was 50 when we met and I was 30. Despite the age difference we spent fun and enjoyable times together. I attended a party she threw at her place in West Hollywood when she was Neil Diamond's Executive Assistant attended by several luminaries. I lost track of her by 1973. I had no idea she'd had a career as a model and actress. She had short hair and glasses at the time we met and eventually seeing her younger photos from her heyday I was taken by her femininity and stunning face and figure. Miss you, dear Totty.
