Zvi SCHACHTER Obituary

SCHACHTER, Zvi Harry Age 82, of Marina Del Rey, California passed peacefully on November 12th, 2010. He was born October 29th, 1928, in Romania. At fourteen he escaped Nazi occupied Romania to Israel where he lived until he came to the United States in the early 1950's to complete his aeronautical engineering degree. He worked in that field for many years while simultaneously inventing and manufacturing an innovative product for the dental and jewelry industry. Eventually this evolved into a successful business with the product distributed worldwide for 35 years. He lived a full active life. He traveled the world with frequent visits to Israel where much of his family is living. He was a wonderful father devoted to his entire family here and in Israel.
He is survived by his three children, David Schachter (wife, Cheryl), Susan Gower, and Michael Schachter (wife, Stacy). His four grandchildren, Amie Gower, Adam Gower, Alex Gower and Sam Schachter. His sister Reta Yatzkan, her children and grandchildren in Israel. Also, many loving friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Moshe and Ada Schachter, his brother Abraham Schachter and his great-grandson Zackary Bellanger. Services will be held 1pm, Tuesday, November 16th, at Hillside Mortuary, 6001 West Centinela Ave., Los Angeles, (800) 576-1994. A private interment will follow the service.
