George Houck Obituary

Houck, George (Jack) Brandt
January 2, 1939 - March 26, 2013
George (Jack) Brandt Houck died at the age of 74. Jack's full life is celebrated by his devoted wife, Aleda "Jean" Houck, sister Annette Shingler, children Linda McGregor and David Houck, stepsons Jeff & Brad Wilson and grandchildren Hope, Lance, Kyle, Katie, Sydnee, Dylan and other loving family and friends. Young Jack grew up in Mechanicsburg, PA, playing trombone and running off to his grandfather's (David Brandt) workshop where he learned to "fix things." Graduating from the University of Michigan in 1961, the young aeronautical engineer began his career with Douglas and continued professionally to retirement from Boeing in 2005. Jack lived in Huntington Beach for 47 years and was an avid tennis player at the Seacliff Tennis Club. The strongly analytical mind of the adult Jack required complex hobbies to fully express his positivity and quiet care such as: repairing clocks, writing code, and dissecting the mysteries of the universe with many friends. Please visit www.jackhouck.com to understand his contribution as researcher in paranormal phenomena and originator of the Psychokinesis (PK) Party.
The memorial service will be held at the Community United Methodist Church, 6652 Heil Ave., Huntington Beach, CA, (714) 842-4461 on Wednesday, April 3rd, 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, friends may send donations to Shipley Nature Center in Huntington Beach (www.shipleynature.org).
