Mary Ann Korth Kaffer

Mary Kaffer Obituary

April 30, 1924 - September 24, 2015 Born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Mary Ann moved to Glendale, CA at a very young age. She lived in Glendale over 60 years and traveled extensively with her husband all over the world. Mary Ann met Bill in the winter of 1953 and married 6 months later in June of 1954, after only 2 dates. He was away on leave in the Navy. Incarnation Catholic Church was the cornerstone of her faith. She went to Elementary School there and was an active parishioner. She was one of the first female Lectors and loved to read the Word. She participated in every community service group she could find, drove the blind, and was committed to giving back, as much as she could. She was dedicated to helping others in need. Bill and Mary Ann were very committed to their Catholic faith and were members of The Knights of Malta and The Order of The Holy Sepulchre. In 1995, they retired to their house and avocado grove in Temecula, CA. She was a loving wife of 60 years to Bill, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her son Kit Kaffer and his son, Logan; her daughter Katy McKim and son-in-law Christopher and their two daughters, Emily and Rebecca. Mary Ann passed away peacefully on September 24, 2015 at the age of 91. Thank you to the beautiful Nuns and staff at Santa Teresita in Duarte, CA for taking such loving care of Mary Ann in her final two years. Rosary is on Sunday, Oct. 11, at 4 pm at Cabot & Sons in Pasadena, and the Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, Oct. 12, at 10 am at St. Bede's Catholic Church in La Canada. Inurnment for Bill and Mary Ann will be Tuesday, Oct. 13 at 11:15 am at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA.
