WHISPERING PINES — Jane Ivey Adams, 71, of Whispering Pines passed away Aug. 20, 2018 at FirstHealth Hospice House after a courageous 16 month battle with leukemia.
She was born January 25, 1947 in Bennettsville, SC to the late Grace Bounds and Kelly Ivey.
Jane worked as an X-ray technologist for several years. She was an active member of Southern Pines United Methodist Church where she enjoyed attending Tuesday communion services and volunteering with the food pantry. She also served her community through working with the Sandhills/Moore Coalition for Human Care. Jane loved being outdoors where she enjoyed fishing, camping, and playing golf. Her hobbies included reading, crossword puzzles, and gardening. She also loved to cook and play with her dogs Barney and Sophie.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Robert Adams; two sons Jason Adams (Caroline) and Chris Adams (Alexa); three grandchildren Sloane, Reese, and Miles; and her sister Judy Mintz (Jimmy).
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Aug. 21, at Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines. A funeral service will be held on Aug. 22 at 11 a.m. at Southern Pines United Methodist Church with Rev. Tommy Sweeley officiating. Interment will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park at 1:30 p.m.

My heartfelt sympathys go out to the family and friends during this difficult time. I hope the words in 1 Thessalonians 4 : 14 can bring you some comfort. Knowing that there is a future for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.
