I'm saddened by the news of Ikey's passing. We were acquaintances in junior high & high school. Even back then, he was a talented musician. I remember him always being a lovable and happy guy. Thoughts & prayers to the Owens family.

I met Ikey in Boston in September 2012 while backstage at a Jack White show, and after telling him I had been a big fan of his for years, especially with TMV, he invited me to sit on the side of the stage with him and watch the show(he had the night off). We talked for hours about music and life in general. He was so unbelievably genuine and caring, giving me his full attention the whole time. I am very grateful to have been able to tell him face to face how much I appreciate him and I send my regards and deep sympathy to his friends and family for their loss. I feel lucky to have met him just once, he made a lasting impact and he will be missed.
