Robert Biedenharn Obituary

Robert Matthew Biedenharn

February 1, 1925 - March 26, 2015

Robert M. Biedenharn was a veteran of WWII and served in the European Theater of Operations as a Lieutenant in the Paratroops. He graduated from the University of Mississippi where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. In 1950, he married the late June Turnbow Biedenharn. Bob was co-founder of the Holiday Harbor marinas, located in Southern California. He is survived by his daughter, Kris; his son, Larry; four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Born in Vicksburg, Mississippi, his Southern drawl, Southern charm and sense of humor were lovable trademarks. He was a cherished friend whose presence will be missed each and every day.

In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made in his honor to the American Heart Association (http://www.heart.org/HEARTORG/). Please sign the guest book at presstelegram.com/obits.

So sorry for your loss Kris & Larry. Bob was one of a kind and we had many years of fun travel with him. You couldn't finish a sentence without reminding him of a new joke. We will miss him.

Mr. and Mrs. Biedenharn were such good friends of my parents. I remember their laughter on visits. Mr. B would call my father at midnight on Christmas (which was 3:00 AM on the East Coast) as a prank to wake Dad up. One year, Dad called at 6:00 AM on the East Coast to return the favor. He asked Mr. B what he was doing and without missing a beat Mr. B said "Just sitting here waiting for you to call." It was one of my father's favorite stories.

Mr. Biedenharn was truly a kind gentleman and will be missed by all who knew him. I hope he and my father are together again, sharing some laughs.

God bless his family. Bob was one of my favorite cousins. What a delight to be with June and Bob. A true Southern gentleman and what a sense of humor. Rest in peace, Bob, with your beloved June.

Please except my deep condolences. Death of a love one is the hardest thing we can go through, because we are never prepared for it so I hope you find some comfort in knowing sickness, pain and death will one day be no more for this has been promised to us.

Robert, You will be missed and remembered by all. I will always
have you and June as a special part of my heart and history while attending to CSULB,
baby-sitting,then house sitting, and hanging out on the beach in the
60's. RIP,Vicky Kilgore-Churchill
