Mical Culpepper Obituary

Mical Lee Culpepper's life was cut short at the young age of 27 near Truth or Consequences, NM. He was taken from his wife, his three young sons and his parents on Saturday May 5, 2012. Mical was born May 26th, 1984 in Denver, CO at 1:27pm, he weighing just over 7 pounds to Synthea Smith-Culpepper (now Simonson) and Lee Wayne Culpepper. Mical spent most of his life in Sierra County and was a 2002 graduate of Geronimo Trails High School. He served in the U.S. Navy from 2002-2003. He married Bertha Alicia Ocon on January 25th, 2007. They had three handsome sons and had recently celebrated their 5th wedding anniversary. Mical moved his growing family to Las Cruces, NM in 2010. Mical was planning to begin college in the fall and to study to become a paralegal at Dona Ana Community College in Las Cruces, NM. Mical was a kind and wonderful person, he always had a smile on his face and was constantly spreading joy to others. He brought life and happiness to other people's lives with his silly jokes and his beautiful personality. Mical had a compassionate and caring heart; he sought peace between friends and family members. He was not perfect but, he tried to do what was right in God's eyes, especially in what turned out to be his last years. He was very respectful towards others, especially his elders. He had very strong, good morals and values. His dream was to raise his children to live a righteous life full of honesty and integrity. He wanted them to follow God and always do what is right in his eyes. Mical really enjoyed spending with his family. He played with his boys constantly, never wanting them out of his sight. Mical's sons and his wife, Bertha, were the most important part of his life, encouraging him to constantly strive to provide a better life for them. Mical was the provider for his family working as a server at Denny's in TorC, NM and at IHOP while living in Las Cruces. Mical was growing by leaps and bounds and was making his family extremely proud. He became an active member of his local church and attended Heart for the World Church in Las Cruces, NM on a weekly basis. Mical helped baptize his wife, Bertha, in March of 2012 at the Heart for the World Church. He was immensely happy and proud of all the accomplishments he was achieving. He had come so far in his life and knew he had so much to give.Mical is survived by his wife of 5 years, Bertha Alicia, his three sons, Eduardo Alonso, 8, Mical Lee Jr., 4, and Gabriel Israel, 1. Mical is also survived by his father, Lee Culpepper of TorC, NM and his mother Synthea Simonson, of TorC and Las Cruces, NM, his sister, Briana Simonson and niece Kyleigh of Albuquerque, NM, his brother Alex Simonson, of Denver, CO. His step-brother is Eric Ontiveros of Las Cruces, NM, his step-sister, Stephanie Ontiveros, of TorC. He is survived as well by a large and loving extended family including uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and many others. Mical was preceded in death by his beloved Nana, Ruby Loper, his grandfather, Tom Smith and his grandparents, Jay and Virginia Culpepper. Mical Lee Culpepper's memorial service will be held Wednesday June 20, 2012 at 5:00 P.M. in the sanctuary of Full Gospel Tabernacle, 1300 South Broadway, Truth or Consequences, nm. Pastor Dale Walker and Pastor Johnny Terrazas from Heart for the World Church of Las Cruces will be officiating. A private burial and service for family and close friends will take place at a later date. If you would like to help with the memorial costs or help with expenses for his wife and children as they rebuild their lives an account has been opened at the Bank of the Southwest in the name of his wife, Bertha Alicia Ocon.

Remembering you today... You're missed tremendously. Your kids wishing that you could still be here with us. But now you must exist only in our memories and in our hearts until we meet again. Love always,
Your sons.

You're still in our hearts Mical... Your memory is kept alive on a daily basis. Our youngest son craves your presence everyday... Asking me, "Mom, if you had "x" amount of wishes what would you wish for? Everytime my answers are slightly different from the ones before but one of his answers never changes... Aside of wishing for all the candy in the world & silly things like that, the answer to his wish question remains unchanged, "I wish dad was alive again."
(Bittersweet moments) We love you so much Mical! Time has not yet nor will ever cure the void that you're absence has left in our lives.
- Till we meet again love of mine

Son, it's surreal that you have been gone for almost 7 years already and still I have no clue why you were taken from us so young.
As the boys grow I see more and more of you in them and I feel sad for all the things you are missing... all the things their dad can't be there for and I am struck by sorrow all over again.
I love you so much Son, always, forever and beyond...no matter what, love your Ma

It's getting close to 2 yrs without you my love...& the pain of your absence is only getting bigger by each passing day. Watching our babies grow older each day & the little things that they do & learn each day are simply amazing to watch...but during those moments is when I miss you the most! How I wish you could be here to watch them grow & so my babies can have their daddy to teach them guy stuff, like working with tools & learning how to grow up to be honorable men. Gabriel recognizes you in pictures baby:) He can now see in pictures & say "daddy" ..he misses you so much...there's not a day that doesn't go by where he doesn't me in his little cute voice, "momma I miss my daddy" ...he's already gonna be there years old:) I love & miss you tremendously my love...looking forward till the day I see you again...

Its still hard to accept that you're really no longer with us. You were such an amazing friend father and husband. Its true what they say: the good really do die young and you were taken from all those that cared about you far too soon but in glad to know we have an amazing angel watching over us. You will forever be in my heart. May you rest in peace my friend <3

I am missing you tremendously my amazing hubby!I finally started going through your clothes so I can put it away. The feeling is overwhelming! How I wish that you were still here. We need you, your kids need you, I need you!!! Life is simply not fair! How I wish I had a time machine! But life does not work like that. All I can do is learn how to carry on and hoping I can one day see you again...until then watch over us, my wonderful and amazing husband.

Mical,
I miss you already. Yesterday I hung your rose on my wall and it hit me.. You are really gone and won't be coming through the door to make us all laugh. There will be no more late night walmart trips with Bert and Anthony where you guys walk around with bean bag chairs on your heads. I will hold the fun times in my heart and keep your memory alive in this home.
I know that you are not gone sweetie.. Just went on ahead of us. We will be together soon enough. We can walk together and maybe you can give me a tour of Heaven since you made it first.
Love you son.
