Kenneth L. Swope

Kenneth L. Swope MARION TWP. Kenneth L. Swope, Sr., 72, passed away in the evening hours, Monday, December 15, 2014, in his residence. He was the husband of Loretta M. (Gromis) Brewer Swope. Born April 26, 1942, in Marion Twp., he was a son of the late Lee H. & Marguerite (Meckley) Swope. A 1961 graduate of Conrad Weiser High School, he retired after 39 years from Quaker Alloy, Myerstown, having been a mechanic and working in the maintenance department. Kenneth was a member of Tulpehocken Trinity UCC, Millardsville, and was a member of the Marion Senior's. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Kenneth L. (Lisa) Swope, Jr., Manheim, Karl E. (Susie) Swope, Sinking Spring, David A. (Kim) Swope, Wernersville, and Lora M (Kenneth) Spitler, Newmanstown; his step children, Beverly Graham, Jonestown, Theresa Zimmerman, Lebanon, Harry Brewer, Fredericksburg, Dale Brewer, Jonestown; his siblings, Glenn N. Swope, Dallas, Texas, Carlos (Gladys) Swope, Bernville; eight grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter also survive. He was predeceased by his siblings, Janice Seitz, Eugene A. Swope, and Curtis Swope. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 20, 2014, at 11 a.m., from Tulpehocken Trinity UCC, 961 Tulpehocken Rd., Richland, PA 17087 with the Rev. Carol Z. Price, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call Saturday, from 9 a.m. until time of service at the church.
