Lane Campbell Antosh
With broken, shattered hearts, we announce the sudden and tragic passing of our boy, our buddy, our son, brother, nephew, grandson, Lane Campbell Antosh, on Friday, August 9, 2013. Lane was born in Regina on July 18, 1996. He attended W.H. Ford, and later Balgonie Elementary School, and Greenall High School, entering the 2014 Graduating Class. Lane was always generous, warm, full of hugs, sometimes two, and would do anything to help out. He volunteered for many activities and became well known at Relay for Life. He never had a bad word to say to or about anyone, despite not being treated by others as well as he deserved to be. His greatest accomplishment, besides his amazing ability to navigate the computer world flawlessly, was the Out Door School program at Greenall. Lane's family meant more to him than anything, as he organized his 17th birthday BBQ. Everyone came, and we had the most amazing evening. Lane was so proud, having hosted such a great night. On the day of his 17th birthday, after arriving home from an evening of fire works with his dad, Lane wrote this:
"Another birthday come and gone I am the big 17 now! And what a year it has been with ODS and everything so crazy, if you told me on this day a year ago if would have done a 40k hike, week long canoe trip and more, I would have said you were crazy but here I am doing all that and more. It has been a crazy year. Now in the closing minutes of my birthday I think about my grandfather and my great uncle Alan and how proud they would have been with me after doing everything I have done! Thank you everyone for all the birthday wishes and here is for another year!"
Special mention to Mr. Jeff Moore, Stephanie Reinhardt, Meghan Gardiner-Hoehn, Barry Kaytor, and Ms. Solie, whose faith in Lane's ability to succeed never faltered. We know you share in our loss, as well as students, teachers, and principals at Greenall, a place Lane loved.
Throughout his struggles and achievements he was always supported by his mom, his rock, Wanda (Lloyd); his sister, best friend, protector, Lindsay (Jordan); his proud dad Don (Cheryl, sons Dylan and Tyler); his favorite Grandma, Doreen (Reg, keyboard twin); favorite aunties, Susan, Karen (Richard), Jodi (Joe); and always encouraging, supportive cousins, Aaron, Branden, Ashley (son Brody), Stephanie (son Jake) and his little buddy Ryland. The Antosh family also mourning the loss: Grandpa Rudy, Rick (Donna) Micheal, Crystal, Nicole, Wes (Erin) Andrian, Zane, Azaria, Ivan, Laureen, Alyssa, Carla (Randy), Ryan (Julie) Neely, Kyla. Waiting to greet our Lane, so he didn't have to travel to Heaven alone, are his Grandpa, Keith Campbell; his favorite Great Uncle, Alan Campbell; best Grandma Ann Antosh and cousin Zevin. Lane, our hearts are shattered; our lives will NEVER be the same. You made the biggest impact everywhere you went, and kiddo, you didn't even know. All donations in Lane's memory are to be made to Greenall Out Door School Program, Box 70 Balgonie SK, S0G 0E0. This program allowed him to reach beyond his expectations. A service for Lane will be held on Friday, August 23, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. at the Pilot Butte Recreation Center.
