Robert Hugh Pickering
September 19, 1932 – June 24, 2015
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Robert (Bob) Pickering "Peewee" passed away peacefully at the age of 82 years. Bob was born in Wilcox, Saskatchewan and was a grain farmer for 40 years until his retirement. He was an avid curler and represented Saskatchewan between the years of 1961 to 1971 in the Canadian Brier. He was inducted into the Canadian Curling Hall of Fame in 1974. Bob also represented the area of Bengough-Milestone in the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan from 1978 to 1991. Bob and Dorothy enjoyed going down to Mesa, Arizona for 22 years. He enjoyed golfing with the bandits. Bob especially had the best times when he was with his family. Bob is lovingly remembered by his wife Dorothy; daughters Laurie (Robert), Pattie (Jeff), Sheri (Gary); grandchildren Geoffrey, Blake, Whitney, Jilissa and Kiana; as well as his great-grandchildren Madison, Ryland, Sophia and Kyden. Bob will also be remembered by his mother-in-law Goldie; brother Jack (Clarese); sisters-in-law Jackie (Sandy), Rhonda (Dale); brother-in-law Bernie (Lorraine) and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Foothills Country Hospice (Box 274, Okotoks, Alberta, T1S 1A5). A Celebration of Bob's Life will be held at a later date in Saskatchewan.
