Scott E Green

Mr. Scott E. Green (born June 2, 1951) died on Tuesday, September 29th 2016 at the age of 65 at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH surrounded by his family after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. Scott was a lifelong Manchester resident.Scott is survived by his brother, Leonard S. Green and his wife Elinor Green of Bedford, NH, niece Lauryl McGowan and her husband Dermot McGowan of Bedford, NH, niece Robin Young and her husband Andrew Young of Groton, MA, four great nieces and one great nephew. Scott is predeceased by his parents, Meyer and Paulina Green, formerly of Manchester, NH. He was a loving brother and uncle and a devoted son.Scott was in the first graduating class from the Derryfield School (class of 1968) where his parents, Meyer & Paulina Green, were one of the school's founding families. Scott received his bachelor degree from Bates College in Asian History and obtained his Masters Degree from Rhode Island College in American History.Scott was a prolific writer and enjoyed all aspects of literature especially within the realm of science fiction. As both writer and poet, he served as the past vice president for the National Writers Union and a trustee for its at large chapter. He is also a past president of the Science Fiction Poetry Association. Scott was also a lover of politics, and never one to shy away from debate, served four terms in the New Hampshire House of Representatives.The family would like to thank the Genesis Hackett Hill Health Care Center for the care Scott received and the Elliot Hospital ICU team for their incredible skill, kindness and support. A funeral is scheduled for Thursday September 29th at 10am at the Manchester Hebrew Cemetery on S. Beech Street in Manchester, NH. Shiva will be observed on the same day at the home of Leonard and Elinor Green in Bedford, NH from 3-8pm.
