LaMONICA PUGHSLEY
LIMA — LaMonica Patrice Pughsley, age 46, passed from this life on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at approximately 6:50 a.m. at Ohio State University – James Cancer Center in Columbus, Ohio.
She was born in Lima, Ohio on May 5, 1970 to the union of Frank Lee and Denise (Upshaw) Cage, Sr.; both parents survive in Lima.
On November 12, 1988 she was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Earnest Warren Lemar Pughsley, he survives in Lima.
LaMonica worked as a Mentoring Coordinator for Health Partners of Western Ohio. She was a 1988 graduate of Lima Senior High School. LaMonica was very active in her community; she worked with the Tomorrow Project Mentoring Program, C2K (Commitment to Kids), Team Lima, IAFF Local 334 Ladies Auxiliary, Coordinator of Team Meals for Men's Basketball at Ohio State Lima. She was a member of the Greater Sidney Area Emmaus Community, a Lima City Schools Advocate and served on the Miss Opportunity Pageant Committee. She was also an Author and Playwright. LaMonica was a member of In Faith Ministries where she was the New Covenant Partner class instructor. She loved Lima and everyone in it!
Besides her loving husband Warren, she leaves to cherish her precious memory 3 sons; E. W. Lemar Pughsley Jr., Jordan M. Pughsley and Elijah L. Pughsley all of Lima. 1 step-daughter; Sharlecia Pughsley of Alexander City, AL. 2 sisters; Sonya Cage of Lima and Lorraine Andrews (Quincy) of Round Rock, TX. A brother; Frank L. Cage, Jr. (Lakeena) of Lima. 2 grandsons; DeLoni and Zander and 2 granddaughters; Karley and Kalley. Her mother-in-law; Lorna Simpson of Lima.
Home going services will be held Friday, May 12, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at Lima Community Church with Rev. Michael Lyons, officiating.
Visitation/wake services will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Lima Community Church from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Interment – Woodlawn Cemetery

May you find peace in knowing God is a comforter. Monica was impressionable to all who knew her. She was a model of a person even as a young student. Family, we know you miss her and wish you had more time with her. There's never a right time for love ones to depart from us. Our hearts grieve with you this day. Monica was such a beautiful person inside and out. I remember us working in ministry together, and I loved her spirit, and her determination to go forth in ministry with a spirit of excellence. She was my friend, mentor, and she was truly her Father's daughter! Now she is resting in heaven with Him! See you after while sis!
