Mildred Fern Stewart
MT. PULASKI, - Mildred Fern Stewart, 97, passed away at 9:00 a.m. on September 23, 2014, at Vonderlieth Living Center in Mt. Pulaski.
Mildred was born on Nov. 13, 1916, in Harristown, Ill., the daughter of Arthur R. and Lou Eva Wright Beck. She married William John Stewart on Nov. 28, 1935, in Decatur, Ill. He preceded her in death on January 1, 1975.
Surviving Mildred are her children, Kenny Stewart of Illiopolis, Ill., Ronald (Mary) Stewart, Richard Stewart, Delmar (Sue) Stewart, Dennis Stewart, and Janice Cook, and Mark Stewart, all of Mt. Pulaski; one brother, Ray Beck of Illiopolis; one sister, Erma (Fitz) Fulton of California; 23 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; two daughter-in-laws, Phyllis Stewart of Lake Fork and Charlene Stewart of Mt. Pulaski. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Gary and Jerry Stewart, two sisters, and two great- grandchildren.
Mildred was a homemaker and worked in housekeeping at Vonderlieth Living Center for a number of years. She was a member of Mt. Pulaski Christian Church, VFW Auxiliary, and sold Avon products for several years.
Graveside services for Mildred will be 2:30 p.m., Thursday, September 25, 2014, at Mt. Pulaski Cemetery with Mark Weber officiating. Memorials may be given to Vonderlieth Living Center, Mt. Pulaski Christian Church, or Lake Fork Community Center. Services were entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mt. Pulaski.
