Christen Ebert

1990 - 2017

On the morning of August 18th, Christen Ebert's life was taken in a tragic car accident near Flagstaff, Arizona. She was in the middle of her latest adventure to see the Grand Canyon, and was accompanied by her boyfriend and two of her closest friends, whose lives were also claimed by the crash. Christen was born in Fremont, CA on December 31st, 1990, to Peter and Brenda Ebert. She graduated from Tokay High school in 2009, and went on to attend Sonoma State university, graduating in 2013 with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Never one to stay still for long, Christen worked at Trader Joe's in Stockton as well as Thai House restaurant in Valley Springs. She had also recently started work as a cook for Putah Creek Cafe in Winters while studying cooking at American River college, in pursuit of her dream to someday own and operate a food truck with her friends. 
A naturally adventurous and curious person, Christen could often be found chasing lizards or climbing trees, throughout both childhood and adulthood. She was a skilled and passionate cook as well as a gifted artist, and her many paintings and sketches can be found in the homes of those close to her. She loved hiking, camping, and climbing, and was always on the go planning the next adventure for her and her friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Brenda Ebert in 2016. She is survived by her father Peter, her brother Nick, her grandmother Almeda, aunt Sue, aunt Lisa Martinez, uncle Al Martinez, grandparents Samuel and Linda Delgado, and many cousins. Christen was taken from us far too soon, but her family takes comfort in knowing she lived more in her 26 years than many do in a lifetime. Her kind and free-spirited nature has left a profound effect on all those she has left behind. She remains forever with us in our hearts. A visitation for Christen and her friends will be held on Friday, August 25th from 4-6pm at Bear Creek Community Church.
