Marguerite Mettler Obituary
She was born on August 1, 1919 in Wisconsin. She moved to Lodi with her family at the age of two and spent the rest of her life here.
She was preceded in death by her husband Calvin (Cap) Mettler, four brothers and one sister.
She is survived by her children - Carolyn Collins (John), Jan Luiz (Randy), Dan Mettler (Miriam), and Bill Mettler (Tenna). She also leaves behind 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, three sisters - Virginia Beckman, Lucille Beckman, and Dorothy Weaver.
Marguerite was a homemaker, 4-H leader, PTA mom, life time member of the Zion Reformed Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher, sang in the choir and involved in most aspects of the church. She was member of the Lodi Garden Club, Omega Nu, Woodbridge Golf and Country Club, and Lodi Memorial Hospital Auxiliary - serving as pink lady and working with the sewing group.
She loved her flowers, especially the iris ... making beautiful arrangements for every occasion. Marguerite enjoyed singing with her sisters, dancing with Dad, golfing, family camping vacations, traveling and always attended every sporting event that her children and grandchildren were involved in.
Visitation will be at Lodi Funeral Home - 725 S. Fairmont, Lodi on Tuesday October 22 - 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
Private family committal will be at Lodi Memorial Cemetery - October 23, 2013 at 1:00 pm. The celebration of her life for all friends and family will follow at Zion Reformed Church, 105 S. Ham Lane, Lodi at 2:00 pm.
Donations my be made in her name to: Community Hospice - 2105 W. March Lane #2, Stockton, Ca. 95207 or to Zion Reformed Church, 105 S. Ham Lane - Lodi, Ca. 95242.

Dear Jan, Dan, Carolyn, Bill and families. I am so sorry to learn of Mag's passing. What a lovely lady, so sweet. I have great memories of Cap and Mag at our softball games and dancing together at weddings . You are all a great testament to the wonderful mother and woman that she was.

Dear Jan and family.....our deepest condolances on your Mom's passing, but you know she is in a better place and with the man she loved. God bless them both. I always remember all the softball games they came out to watch us play, that was very special to me. I know your wonderful memories will always be a part of who you are and she truly was a lovely lady., she always had a warm smile and gracious way about her.
