Carmen Calabro Obituary
Carmen Calabro passed away on April 6, 2015. Carmen was born on April 8, 1931 to Joseph and Rose Celestino Calabro. Carmen was a landscaper and designer making homes and businesses beautiful throughout Westchester and Connecticut. In the off season he worked for Arc Electric in Queens New York. He was past president of the Turf and Landscape Association and a member of the Italian American Club in Eastchester.
In his younger years he was an avid bowler and loved to fish. He was a proud Veteran of the Korean War. Carmen married Frances Nuzzo on December 1, 1950 and spent 54 years together. He is survived by his loving daughters Joy Kolpin-Kerkow, Janet Pagliaroli (Steve) and Judy Sylvia-Giffone (Joe). Also surviving are his cherished grandchildren David and Melissa Kolpin, Steven Pagliaroli, Douglas Sylvia and Meredith Giffone. He is the brother of Kenny and Phyllis. Carmen is predeceased by his wife Frances as well as his brother Charlie and sisters Grace and Pauline.
The Kiss of the sun for pardon, the song of the birds for mirth, one is nearer god's heart in a garden then anywhere else on earth.
Visiting Hours will be on Thursday April 9, 2015 from 6-9PM at the Edwin L. Bennett Funeral Homes. Services being held on Friday will be private.
