Joan Maurer Obituary
Joan Marie Maurer nee Mannix passed away peacefully on July 23, 2015 surrounded by her loving family at the age of 83. Joan was born in Jersey City and was a longtime New Jersey resident before moving to New City, spending her last eleven years with her two treasured grandsons and family. Joan was a lover of good food, old movies, and joyful conversation. Her beautiful smile and bright eyes will be missed by all who knew her.
Joan is predeceased by her brother Edward Mannix and her former husband Vincent Maurer, and is survived by her two daughters, Anne-Marie Maurer of Basking Ridge, NJ and Elise Covert of New City, her son-in-law Dennis Covert, grandsons Harry and James Covert, her sisters Patricia Bruder of Brick, NJ and Suzanne Patterson of West Windsor, NJ, and a large extended family.
Family will receive visitors on Sunday, July 26, from 2-4 and 7-9pm at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service, New City. A service will take place on Monday, July 27 at 11am at the funeral home.
