Jim was my favorite partner at Grant Thornton where I began my career in 1987. Sad to hear of his passing.

Jim, George, and Connie. Thank you for your posts, kind words and stories. My father was a special man who meant the world to us all. We have all heard many of his Yonkers stories- heard quite a few more today from some his Yonkers friends today. ( Jack Will and his sister Mary to note). If you measure the success of a man's life by the other loves he touched and number of people who loved him, then my father was truly a successful man.

Jimmy was one of my best friends at St. Denis and Sacred Heart High School. I had many sleepovers at his home where we did our best to annoy his sister Mary. Along with Connie Power & George McGinn we were the 4 Horseman. My Condolences to His Wife, his Children and their Families.

This is a memory from my St Denis days!
Jimmy McCaffery, Jimmy Durkin and I (George McGinn) jumping over the roofs of the car garages behind the homes along the railroad side of Van Cortland Park. Then there were the peach trees we raided once in a while. We thought it was great fun at about 10. The three of us had lots of fun times, some perhaps forgotten after almost 70 years.

Jimmy was a wonderful childhood friend. As Elementary school classmates we played games and sports as the seasons dictated. You always wanted to be on Jimmy's side. The years have not diminished the good memories.

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any mans death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.
